We were bitten by the Bonsai bug about 1989 and have only been able to ward off its effects by our indulgence in this captivating art. We purchased the lot next door in 2001, tore down the old home, removed debris, undergrowth and thickets. We believe the local land fill had to open a new cell just to handle it all.

Our next tasks were to start building fences, cold frames, bonsai banks, running water lines and laying so many tons of brick pavers, we lost count. Next a pot shed, stocking tools, soil, wire, greenhouse construction, setting up bonsai lessons, stocking bonsai...Man!! We need a vacation!

Our love of bonsai has led us into this business and even though we are still growing, we think we have something for anyone in bonsai. So stop by, call, send an e-mail or order from our online store.

Many people have asked about our name “Sanderson Creek Bonsai”, since it is not our last name. Well, for a bit of history: James Sanderson was the original patentee for this section (640 acres) of land from the State of Texas in the mid 1800’s. His 5-acre farm site is a stones throw from our present location. In 1898, this area was platted into Glenwood Addition and remains as such today. There is a creek in the block northwest of us that the City of Fort Worth has covered and placed underground. It does daylight further north and is a tributary of the Trinity River. This creek is called “Sanderson Creek”. As the name is not only melodious, using it allowed us to connect into our local history. Thus established, we have begun to create beautiful grounds as setting for our bonsai; of which, we believe, Mr. Sanderson would be proud!
